Curious how Real Estate will withstand the recession we are currently in? For those of you who question if we truly are in a recession, I can assure you we most certainly are… a recession takes place after 2 consecutive quarters of falling GPD. We hit that mid 2022.
So – why do some say we aren’t in a recession? Well, specifically it’s because in 2022 the Biden administration changed/updated the historical definition of what a recession is. Why would they do that you ask? Political reasons only. The facts are in: We have slowed GDP for more than 2 consecutive quarters, we have historically high inflation (over 8%), and interest rates have soared. We have employers laying off thousands of employees (Amazon – over 18,000 employees just a few weeks ago). We most definitely are in a recession.
